Urban Heat Island Research…

Another video from NASA examining the Urban Heat Island Effect. This research makes a fundamental contribution to our understanding of how to develop urban spaces and structures to minimise future heat impacts.

At the 2010 American Geophysical Union (AGU) conference in San Francisco, Dr. Ping Zhang presented her findings on the Urban Heat Island effect. The data collected spans from 1995 to 2005 and gives scientists an idea of why cities are warmer than their surrounding areas, as well as what effect this is having on the planet. our work builds on this research and contributes to the global development of knowledge and design solutions in this field.
